Carmel Christkindlmarkt, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The primary mission of the organization is to create and host an authentic, traditional German Christmas festival - the Carmel Christkindlmarkt. The festival has taken place for four years (2017-2021, skipping 2020 due to Covid-19), drawing 400,000+ visitors annually from mid-November through Christmas Eve, with the market expanding hours until New Year’s Eve in 2022. In 2019 and 2021, the Carmel Christkindlmarkt was voted the #1 Holiday Market in North America according to USAToday’s 10Best Readers’ Choice poll.

Guest Services Team Lead
Pay range: $18/hour
Job description: Check in, Full Time For Duration of Market (Hours TBD). This role can be filled by 2 people or more who can alternate shifts/days worked
Job duties:
- The Guest Services Team Lead will manage,champion, and oversee the volunteer schedule will require weekday weekend hoursand evening hours.
- Ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and collaboration with Volunteers and market staff·
- Provide orientation to Volunteers
- Check in of Volunteers
- Check out of Volunteers
- Ensure Guest Services is prepared and trained onall safety & security protocols in case of an emergency
- Maintain records, manuals, and documents pertaining to Guest Services
- Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully;develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations;uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics. Ability to provide direction to volunteers.
- Customer Service Skills / Interpersonal Skills
- Some computer knowledge helpful, but not required
- Friendly as you will be the Face of the Market for volunteers and guests
- Familiarity of First Aid Kit
- Managing Lost and Found (Documentation required)
- Operate hand-held radio (as needed)
