Design submissions are limited to two (2) entries per individual. Open to all ages. Employees of Carmel Christkindlmarkt, Market Vendors, and their immediate family members are eligible to submit designs and have their submission selected but are ineligible to receive any of the accompanying prizes. By entering, entrant agrees to comply with these Official Rules and Terms and Conditions.

Drawings can be submitted beginning May 1, 2024. Entries will no longer be accepted after June 30, 2024. The winner will be announced in August 2024. The winning mug design will be announced in February 2025. The winning submission and designer will be under an embargo until those announcements are made.
The designer of the winning submission will receive $1,000, four 2024 mugs, four 2025 mugs, and participation in Opening Day or VIP Day ceremonies.
Mugs will be judged on artistic merit, manufacturing feasibility, manufacturing cost, and how they are reflective of Market experience and the City of Carmel. The designer of the winning submission will be notified by the Carmel Christkindlmarkt via phone and email. The Carmel Christkindlmarkt will make two attempts to contact the designer of the winning submission. If the designer of the winning submission does not respond to attempts to the phone calls or emails informing them of their win within 14 days of the second contact attempt, then they may forfeit their claim to the prize; the Carmel Christkindlmarkt may continue to use the "winning submission" or choose an alternative design.
Carmel Christkindlmarkt, Inc. reserves the right, at any time and without prior notice, to cancel, modify or suspend the Contest and amend any rules, terms and conditions.
By participating in the contest, you agree to be unconditionally bound by these Official Rules and Contest’s Terms and Conditions, and you represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements set forth herein. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

The mugs are currently made out of clay ceramic. The material can be adjusted to accommodate different designs. If you would like to use a different material, please include this in your design submission.

These Terms and Conditions govern the DESIGN OUR 2025 CARMEL CHRISTKINDLMARKT MUG! Contest (the “Contest”) run by the Carmel Christkindlmarkt, Inc (“Market”). By entering, the entrant agrees to comply with the Official Rules and these Terms and Conditions.
Each design/entry must be the original, non-AI-created work or property of the Contest entrant. By entering the Contest, the entrant represents, acknowledges, and warrants that the submitted images/designs are the property of the submitter and that the images do not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity, or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the work or any part thereof. If a design/entry contains any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, and/or if any persons appear in the entries submitted, the entrant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the design/entry, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the use of the design/entry in the manner set forth in the Official Rules and these Terms and Conditions, without additional compensation. If any entrant is under the age of eighteen, the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required. The entrant agrees to indemnify Market and its partners, affiliates, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any and all third-party claims arising from the design/entry and use of the work(s) in connection with the Contest.
Where permitted by law, the entrant grants (and agrees to confirm said grant in writing if requested by Market) the Market and those acting pursuant to Market’s direction or control the right to print, publish, broadcast, and use worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the Internet, at any time or times, the entrant's design/entry, name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness and biographical information for advertising, trade, and promotional purposes without additional consideration and without notice, review, or approval.
The winning design/entry becomes the intellectual property of the Market in perpetuity, and the entrant winner transfers all intellectual property rights associated with the design/entry or any part thereof to the Market and its designees, licensees, or affiliates. Such rights include but are not limited to, the rights to use, modify, distribute, display, reproduce, publish, republish, and create derivative works of the design/entry in any media now or hereafter known for any purpose whatsoever. Market reserves the right to alter the winning design/entry at its sole discretion. Further, the entrant winner, if required by Market, agrees to complete, sign, and return an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release, a publicity release (where lawful), and provide evidence of identity and age with a valid state or federally issued identification (i.e., driver’s license or passport), all within fourteen (14) days of prize notification. If required documents are requested and not returned timely, or if the entrant does not timely answer and/or respond to the prize notification, or if an entrant winner is found not to have complied with the Official Rules and these Terms and Conditions, declines the prize for any reason, and/or is ineligible for any reason, the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded, in Market’s sole discretion, to an alternate winner.
By participating, the entrant releases, agrees to hold harmless, and indemnifies the Market, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective directors, officers, employees, representatives, and agents from any and all liability for any injury, loss or damage of any kind to persons (including, without limitation, death) or property, arising directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from or in connection with the participation in this Contest, or any Contest-related activity, including but not limited to the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize.
NOTWITHSTANDING THE FOREGOING, IN THE EVENT THAT THE PRECEDING RELEASE IS DETERMINED BY A COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION TO BE INVALID OR VOID FOR ANY REASON, THE ENTRANT AGREES THAT, BY ENTERING THE CONTEST, (I) ANY CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS, AND AWARDS SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS INCURRED, BUT IN NO EVENT ATTORNEYS’ FEES; AND (II) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ANY ENTRANT BE PERMITTED TO OBTAIN ANY AWARD FOR, AND PARTICIPANT HEREBY WAIVES ALL RIGHTS TO CLAIM, ANY OTHER DAMAGES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
Website Integrity:
The entrant warrants that all uploaded images/files to the Contest’s website are free of viruses, bugs, or other malicious malware. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage the Content’s website or otherwise undermine the operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, the Market reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Binding Effect:
Entrant agrees (a) to be bound by the Official Rules and these Terms and Conditions; (b) that the decisions of Market are final on all matters relating to the Contest; and (c) all federal, state, and local taxes, fees, and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of the entrant winner.
Governing Law:
By entering, the entrant agrees that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of the Official Rules, these Terms and Conditions, and/or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Market in connection with the competition shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the substantive laws of the State of Indiana without regard to its conflicts of law provisions. All entrants hereby consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the state courts located in Hamilton County, IN.
