Job Title: 2025 Alcohol Servers

Summary:
The Bartender position is responsible for providing timely, friendly, accurate, and safe service to the customers at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt. This position offers full-time and part-time shifts during market hours and reports to the Beverage Manager. The job requires multiple people working on a team to split shifts serving beer and wine at Market-operated huts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Bartenders/Servers will work at various Market hut locations.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Provide information to customers on varieties of Glühwein and beer served at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt.
- Sell beer and Glühwein using accepted techniques and guidelines.
- Work in a team environment.
- Job requires standing for long periods of time.
- Practice responsible alcohol service.
- Operate POS system for taking payment.
- Responsible for all transactions completed on assigned register, including proper cash balancing and reporting any concerns to management (including unauthorized use of POS).
- Verify identification to confirm guests are at least 21 years of age for all alcohol transactions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must be 21 or over and have a valid state of Indiana alcohol serving permit.
- Must be friendly and able to engage with customers.
- Punctuality is a must. Servers are to have their huts ready no less than 10 minutes prior to opening.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment at times.
- Candidate must possess the ability to think on their feet.
- Willing to work in an outdoor environment.
- Ability to lift and maneuver upwards of 25 pounds.
Time Commitment:
- November/December.
- Covering shifts during market hours.
- Flexible number of hours, but minimum 17-20 hours per week.
Compensation: $13 per hour, plus tips.
