Our line-up of unique entertainers, special cultural events and fun family programming guarantees that we have something for everyone to enjoy, whether you visit once, twice or every week we’re open. Our special events often take place throughout the Market, with stage entertainment happening on the main stage in our Winter Pavilion.
6–9 p.m. (General Admission)
Enjoy an exclusive preview of the Carmel Christkindlmarkt before it opens for the season! This special evening features live music, special presentations and samples of some of the Market’s most popular food and beverages. Wundernacht is an adults-only event for guests ages 21 and older.
11:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
Join us as we officially kick off the 2026 Carmel Christkindlmarkt! Enjoy live alphorn music, meet the Christkind and experience the joyful atmosphere of Opening Day. Be part of the tradition from the very first ring of the bell as we welcome another magical holiday season.
6–6:45 p.m.
Join us for a magical evening as we light the 2026 Christmas tree! Enjoy special performances, followed by remarks and the official tree-lighting countdown.
4–6 p.m.
Celebrate the German tradition of Sankt Martinstag with an interactive, family-friendly storytime experience. Hear the beloved tale of Saint Martin, a Roman soldier remembered for his compassion and generosity, brought to life through an illustrated storybook, audience participation and engaging questions. Storytime sessions will begin every 15 minutes throughout the evening.
5:30–7:30 p.m.
Experience a beloved German tradition as Sankt Nikolaus and his companion, Knecht Ruprecht, arrive at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt! Watch for their grand entrance, enjoy a special presentation in the Winter Pavilion and meet them in person at the Spielhaus. In keeping with tradition, children are encouraged to recite a poem or sing a song for Sankt Nikolaus before receiving a small gift.
7:30–9 p.m.
Celebrate the season with a joyful German holiday sing-along — no German-language experience required! All are welcome to join in the fun as we sing traditional carols together. After the music, take part in the ornament exchange by bringing a wrapped ornament valued between $5 and $10 and choosing a new one to take home.
9–11 a.m.
Get ready for wintertime fun at the annual Glühwein Gallop 5K Run/Walk! The race begins and ends at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt. Wear your wackiest, most festive outfit for a chance to participate in the costume contest, then celebrate after the race with a complimentary beverage.
12–8 p.m.; ceremony from 12–12:30 p.m.
Military Appreciation Day honors active-duty service members and veterans. Join us at noon for a special ceremony in the Winter Pavilion recognizing members of the military and thanking them for their service. Additional activities will take place throughout the Market during the day.
