Summary:
2025 Spielhaus Staff is responsible for creating a magical German-inspired environment for families to enjoy meeting special characters and making memories. Reports to the Cultural Programs Manager.
Spielhaus Program:
The Spielhaus will house kids' entertainment, performers, and special meet-and-greet opportunities (Santa, princesses, ballerinas, local dance troops, Christkind, elves, Puppet Shows, hands-on kids music, dancing, story time, magician, etc.) as well as special playtime opportunities with blocks, trains, instruments, etc.
Essential Spielhaus Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet and engage guests in the Spielhaus in a meaningful way.
- Assist guests during their visits with special characters as needed.
- Assist performers and characters as needed.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming environment; this includes making sure that toys and books are organized, the sand table is clean, and the hut is cleaned regularly.
- Welcome volunteers upon their arrival to the Spielhaus and advise them of their role in the hut; be available for support during their shifts (Schedules and assignments will be provided by the Cultural Programs Manager).
- Provide option to also cover Kinderecke if need arises.
- Help create a magical Christmas environment for all ages.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Enthusiastic about working with children of all ages and their families: friendly, outgoing.
- Communicate and interact with the public and CCI team members professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills - able to work independently and with a team, problem-solver.
- Able to work with the general public and the performers to help create a magical experience.
- Able to spend prolonged time standing in all weather (mostly cold weather).
Time Commitment:
- Must have weekend and evening availability during Market Hours (November 22, 2025 - December 24, 2025), additional shifts are available.
Compensation: $18/Hour
