Do you love Christmas and have what it takes to represent one of the newest Christmas traditions of the city of Carmel? The Christkindlmarkt Essay Contest is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in our community, and carry the honor of bringing a popular German tradition to Carmel.
The Christkind is a well-known symbol of Christmas in German speaking countries. As the tradition goes, the Christkind angel delivers Christmas presents, as well as the Christmas tree to German children on Christmas Eve, without being seen.
The Christkind is the representative of the Christmas Market and delivers the Christmas spirit to the community. In Germany, the Christkind starts the Christmas season by opening the famous Nuernberger Christkindlmarkt. We would like to find a Christkind to open our local market for this Christmas season!
